Area closed for residence halls renovations

Sidewalks around Harper and Broun residence halls are closed to pedestrian traffic due to renovations occuring within the two halls. Alternate routes are marked on site. Renovations are expected to be completed in July 2022.

utility services

Utility Services is responsible for operating and maintaining the domestic water, natural gas, sanitary sewer and storm utility systems for the University. The city provides domestic water through seven master meter points which is then distributed through an underground piping system throughout campus. Spire provides natural gas through two master meters which is then distributed through an underground piping system throughout campus. Both distribution systems are maintained by the Utility Services department.

Other duties performed by the Utilities Services department include:

  • Underground utility line location
  • Natural gas and domestic water meter reading
  • GPS utility location maintenance
  • Maintain campus maps
  • Maintain utility maps
  • Coordination of survey services
  • Provide temporary and permanent domestic water and natural gas services
  • Survey of sewer and storm drain systems

energy management

Energy Management is charged with the monitoring of and reduction of energy usage at Auburn University. They developed the Energy Reduction Strategy, develop and implement projects aimed at reducing energy usage and are currently installing a state of the art meter monitoring system with central data collection.

Contracted Moving Services

If you need to coordinate a move on campus, you should work through the Campus Relocation Coordinator to ensure that your move is complete and successful. Each move is unique in its requirements and the information below will provide general directions and discussion on the basics of planning a successful move.

Typical Move Request Process
  • Typical contracted moves are at the request of a project, however non-project assistance is available
  • Contracted move assistance is chargeable via a Purchase Order
  • The Campus Relocation Coordinator interfaces with the Service Support Supervisor to assess best options for move assistance
  • Sizes of moves range from small to large
Types of Contracted Moves
  • View move checklist.
  • Empty desks to be moved.
  • Unplug computers and other electronic equipment.
  • Empty lateral file cabinets.
  • Box files to be moved.
  • Label all boxes with the department name, owner name, new building name and new room number.
