Auburn University honors Dora Moore as an Employee of the Year

DoraCongratulations to Dora Moore of Custodial Services, who has been named Auburn University’s Employee of the Year for the Service/Maintenance category.

Widely regarded as the “gold standard” of cleaning in Custodial Services, Dora’s dedication and expertise have earned her the admiration of clients across the five buildings she maintains. Even former clients continue to ask about her, a testament to her lasting impact.

“Dora is a consummate professional,” said Rico Harvey, Facilities Management manager of Custodial Services Operations. “Her cleaning and customer service skills are truly exceptional, and she plays a key role in training other custodians in proper techniques.”

A valued member of the Facilities team for 27 years, Dora was recognized alongside three other Auburn employees at the Employee Recognition Program on May 2. She was selected from 46 recent Spirit of Excellence recipients—a prestigious honor celebrating outstanding contributions to the university.

Each Employee of the Year received a $3,000 monetary award along with a handcrafted eagle, sculpted from Alabama clay sourced from a creek bed in the Coosa River in Wetumpka.
