Request Project Consultation

Initiating a Request

The Facilities Management Project Request Form (also referred to as the Project Initiation Form or PIF), is the means by which an Auburn University College, School, Office, Department or other entity request and initiate a project for planning, design, engineering, and/or construction services to any Auburn University owned building or grounds.

Furthermore, initiating a project through Facilities Management is essential to ensure that the requested work complies with all applicable building codes, laws, and regulations. In addition to adhering with Auburn University’s policies, strategic initiatives, master planning efforts, design and construction standards, and image and character standards.

Submitting Your Proposal

Instructions for submitting the Project Request are on the form itself; however, once we have received the completed form, it will be reviewed and assigned a project manager from our Design Management team. This individual will work with you directly to identify the project requirements and develop a preliminary scope of work, project costs, and schedule. Once this programming phase has been completed, and the project has been funded, the project will then progress through the design and construction phases.

Project Policies

In some cases, a Project Request may also be necessary for modifications to other non-AU buildings that are either on property owned by AU and/or for leased buildings occupied by AU employees or students. Refer to this website for Auburn University’s Policies specific to Facilities Management, which includes the policies on “Authority to Execute” and “Third Party” construction projects.

Maintenance Requests

Although Facilities is also in charge of work orders, they do not get submitted for approval the same way. For maintenance type requests, please submit a Work Order through this site.
