Dave Irvin recently was named executive director of Construction Management

Irvin came to Facilities Management from Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL, where he served as associate vice president of Facilities at FSU from September 2020 through August 2023.

“Dave brings to Auburn’s Facilities Management a wealth of experience in directing and leading facilities groups from across the nation,” said Simon Yendle, assistant vice president of Planning, Design and Construction. “His more than 40 years of expertise will play a vital role in keeping campus moving forward, enhancing student success and building upon Auburn’s fantastic reputation. We are proud to add him to the Auburn Family.”

In the position, Irvin will lead a staff responsible for overseeing pre-construction services, contract services and construction administration services for all university construction projects, as well as ensure successful construction project completion and client satisfaction.

Irvin began his career as a university architect at Emporia State University in Emporia, KS, before stints at the University of Nebraska Omaha, University of Houston and University of Tennessee, Knoxville, before heading to FSU.

He is currently board chair of APPA, formerly known as the Association of Physical Plant Administrators.
